Marley and Me

I actually went to see the movie before reading the book, and I have to say that I equally enjoyed them both. John Grogan is an excellent writer and this book is very easy to read.

At first I kept having the two actors, Luke Wilson and Jennifer Aniston, in my head, but the book really is so much more in-depth then the movie. And I often wondered why they changed things in the movie, just for the sake of changing things, when the events that happened in the book would have actually been better.

It makes you wonder sometimes why they even use a book to create a movie from, when the changes are just so random. Ego probably.

Anyway, whether you've seen the movie or not, this is a good read.

Tomasen: Loved it...especially having a dog. Have yet to see the movie though!!

You know, I noticed when I was at the bookstore last Sunday that almost every book that is on one of those prominent perches is a book that has been turned into a movie.

Is our media business doing so poorly these days that they have to keep stealing the book ideas???

Along those lines, I dislike when they throw the actors from the movies onto the book covers...Like hello? I read because I like to imagine these things myself!

I know this had nothing to do with Marley & Me but i thought of it...maybe you should send Marley & Me with those ice skates! haha

I hate when they put actors on the book covers too. WRONG! And it's not that our media is doing so poorly, it's that it's all owned by one big corporation so when they buy the rights to a book they then have the option to turn it into a movie, which they happen to own that company as well. Sad.
