Hmmm...as a big fan of Snowflower and the Secret Fan, I have to say that Lisa See really let me down on this one. the beginning of the book was engaging and the middle...well...nothing ever happened. Then at the end she just left you hanging. It was as though she was as tired of this book as I had become and just needed to end it. So she did. Mid plot she just ended it.
Sorry guys...but I would really not even bother with this one! On to the next one!!

You know, I often find this with an author around their third or fourth book (if they are going to be that prolific). It is almost as though they wrote from the heart to begin with, and then the next books were written for money. And you can feel the difference. But you can't give up on them, because suddenly they will be inspired again and can write another good one. Barbara Kingsolver is a good example of this. She lost it on some of her books, but her latest are excellent. This really is all to blame on editors who want to make money too. So ultimately, the true blame is money.
Money is evil.
Got that everyone?
Haha I just bought this book called the 4 hour work week... which is pretty much along the same lines of thinking as far as I can tell. WE'll see...
Okay...I hear you, but it was terribly disappointing. I am now having a hard time finding a book that I can really get into. Started the Dragon Tatoo book, but am not into it. Must read through this site for good ideas!!
